Our Region
The Bayside South region is within the Brisbane City Council boundary. The region is a mix of residential areas, retail areas (Wynnum, Manly, Manly West, Gumdale, Belmont, Tingalpa) and industrial areas providing a large employment base with large industrial areas in Hemmant, Lytton and the Port of Brisbane.
Suburbs in this region include: Wynnum, Wynnum North, Wynnum West, Lindum, Hemmant, Port of Brisbane, Lytton, Murarrie, Tingalpa, Lota, Manly, Manly West, Wakerley, Gumdale, and parts of Murarrie, Belmont and Capalaba. The area of focus is bounded by the Brisbane River to the north, the Gateway Motorway to the west, Old Cleveland Road to the south, and Moreton Bay to the east.
The marine industry is significant with four marinas within the Manly Harbour complex, and marine industries at the Port of Brisbane, and boat building and marina in the Rivergate area at Murarrie.
